Hi there, I'm Jen Olson.I'm a contemporary visual artist based in Cromwell, New Zealand.
My work captures the fumbled exchanges, sublime moments, uncomfortable feelings, and fragile connections that make us gloriously human. I use a range of materials from ink to acrylics, charcoal, coloured pencils, markers, gold leaf and more.
I particularly like to draw peoples' insides on the outside - to connect our inner selves to our physical bodies, and gently poke at our vulnerable soft spots. Melancholy is my favourite mood, and I'm enchanted by awkward encounters. |
